Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit League of Conservation Voters. The short explanation of this alert was: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is about to relax restrictions on dumping sewage into our waterways. But, with your help, we can stop them. The EPA has proposed a new Clean Water Act, which would "blend" or discharge inadequately treated sewage into waterways. The new policy would allow sewage with no biological treatment into our lakes, rivers, streams and coastal waters. This kind of treatment is intended to kill pathogens, toxic chemicals and other pollutants. But exposure to the bacteria and viruses in such polluted waterways can be life-threatening. We must prevent millions of Americans from getting sick because of exposure from these polluted waters. Please tell your members of Congress that this EPA policy will pose a serious threat to public health, the economy and the environment. Send them a message to protect the existing Clean Water Act.
