America at an Energy Crossroads

Urge Your Senators to Promote Clean Energy, Not Offshore Oil Drilling
Despite strong public opposition, the U.S. House of Representatives voted in June to lift decades-long protections of America's vulnerable coasts in favor of Big Oil's offshore drilling plans. It's not too late to stop this reckless act.

Fill out the form to write your Senators today. Tell them to vote "NO" on more offshore oil drilling and instead encourage investment in cleaner and cheaper energy solutions that protect our environment and reinvigorate our economy.

Subject: Stop New Offshore Drilling - Promote Clean Energy

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I am concerned about our nation's energy future, and I urge you to oppose legislation to increase offshore drilling. The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a backward-looking bill to encourage new offshore oil drilling. I urge the Senate to take a different course and instead embrace policies that protect our coasts and reduce our dependence on oil.

Rather than addressing America's real energy needs - energy independence, cleaner energy and lower prices - more offshore oil drilling only promises more oil dependence, potential oil spills, increases in global warming pollution, and threats to our economy and wildlife.

Instead of polluting our coastal waters, I urge you to vote for legislation to increase energy efficiency and clean, renewable technology, such as increasing fuel economy for automobiles. America has the technological know-how to own our energy future. We just need our political leaders to show the leadership.

Sincerely,
