Greetings,
You care about protecting Oregon's natural legacy?
Do your legislators?
Every two years since 1973, the Oregon League of Conservation
Voters has released its Environmental
Scorecard for the Oregon Legislature.
Find out your legislators' 2009 environmental scores
and then take action. Tell them what you think of their score.
Your voice matters!
Did your legislators vote to:
Protect Oregon's rivers and streams?
Promote clean energy and create green jobs?
Fight the costly damage caused by invasive species?
Phase out toxic chemicals that threaten our health?
Or, were they like too many legislators who irresponsibly
sided with corporate polluters time and time again?
Find out. Read the Scorecard at www.olcv.org/scorecard.
You'll find your legislators' environmental scores, plus how
they voted on 21 key environmental bills, articles about the
session, a bill graveyard, links to contact your legislators,
legislative awards, and more.
Plus, this year for the first time ever, you can vote for the
OLCV
People's Choice Award. We've nominated all legislators who
scored 75% or better for 2009. You decide which should be
specially recognized as the People's Choice.
Remember: your elected lawmakers are accountable to YOU!
It's not enough to know the score. You have a
responsibility to tell your legislators how they measure up.
Thank them for representing you or let them know you're
disappointed in their votes.
We make it as easy as one, two, three. Visit www.olcv.org/scorecard
to find your legislators scores and:
1. Click on the links to contact them-thank them or let
them know you are disappointed.
2. Vote for your
favorite legislator in the People's Choice
Award.
3. Then, share the Scorecard with your
friends via Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, or plain old-fashioned
email.
When each of us takes responsibility to hold our legislators
accountable, we can build a better future for our kids. Act
now.
