Greetings,
As momentous as 2008 was, the future of conservation policies
in Virginia will be shaped by the
2009 Elections. That's right...2009!
Conservation
candidates enjoyed great success in Virginia
in 2008. Since
then, we have all witnessed the great efforts of President Obama
and others, like Congressmen Periello, to begin to reverse the
devastating effects of climate change.
On November 3,
2009, Virginians will go to the polls to elect a new
Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and all 100
House of Delegates members.
We
need your help to elect a Conservation Majority on November 3rd!
SIGN UP TODAY!
· The
Virginia League of Conservation Voters has endorsed Creigh Deeds
for Governor, Jody Wagner for Lieutenant Governor and Steve
Shannon for Attorney General.
· Our
endorsed candidates include incumbent conservation champions
locked in tough reelection campaigns like Joe Bouchard (HD-83,
Virginia Beach) and Margi
Vanderhye (HD-34, McLean). They need our
help!
· We
will also be working to elect exciting challengers, like Greg
Werkheiser (HD-42, Springfield) whose energy and
passion are what electing a conservation majority is all
about!
The 2009 Election
will determine whether a new clean energy economy takes hold in
Virginia. It will determine
whether we will create new green jobs through investments in
efficiency and renewable energy or whether we will continue
"business as usual."
