This legislation, led by John Mica (R-FL), is a sweeping assault on the Clean Water Act, and will undermine a legacy of coordination and balance between Federal and State governments that has resulted in significant progress in cleaning up America's waters. More importantly, it will mean dirtier water for millions of Americans by preventing the EPA from fulfilling its requirements under the Clean Water Act to protect the health and water quality of all Americans.
